The Ocean Institute is an ocean education organization located in Dana Point, California offering ocean science and maritime history programs for K–12 students and their teachers. The institute is open to the general public on weekdays, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., and weekends, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.; visitors can see marine animals and ocean-themed exhibits!

OHANA FESTIVAL
The Ohana Festival is a weekend musical event with 35+ performances on three stages at Doheny State Beach. Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder and the surfing world’s #1 surfer, Kelly Slater, decided to create this music festival because they love surfing at Doheny and the nearby Trestles. Enjoy a collection of exhibits and panels with leading conservationists, environmentalists, researchers, and professional surfers.

CONCERTS IN THE PARK
These FREE movie nights in the Sea Terrace Park bring back the nostalgic feel of a drive-in movie, but without the car. Bring your low back lawn chair or blanket. Refreshments available for purchase. The concerts are held at Sea Terrace Park, PCH & Niguel Road behind the Dana Point Library area.

FESTIVAL OF WHALES
The Dana Point Festival of Whales is an annual seaside event in honor of the gray whales and other marine life species with ocean-theme events and activities with an emphasis on education and environmental responsibility. Numerous events take place both in and around Dana Point Harbor with the main event being dolphin and whale watching.

AFW ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC
The AFW Golf Classic is one of Southern California’s most exciting annual golf events and offers a wide range of involvement opportunities. This event supports AFW’s mission of providing free flights for people who need to travel to critical care appointments. An AFW mission can transport a patient to a clinical trial, bring a child with a congenital heart defect to a distant specialist, or deliver an organ transplant recipient to critical follow-up care.
